Sukh Mahal
Standing graciously on the banks of the alluring Jait Sagar Lake, Sukh Mahal is one of the most appealing monuments to visit in Bundi. A two-storeyed building that was once by the royal families as a summer retreat, Sukh Mahal is more known for its marble chhatri (umbrella) on the second storey.
A major tourist attraction, this testimonial monument in Bundi has always a centre of attraction. So was its beauty and appeal that it was served as a retreat to Rudyard Kipling. It is also said this famous English poet and writer got inspiration for his masterpiece ‘Kim’ while staying in Sukh Mahal.
