Monsoon Palace
The rulers of Rajasthan were the pioneers of science and architecture; the Monsoon Palace in Udaipur cites this in the best ways! An imposing palace in Rajasthan that was built to observe and study weather conditions; specially to study the monsoon clouds, this marvellous piece of architecture was commissioned by Maharana Sajjan Singh in 1884. Initially, it was named ‘SajjanGarh Palace’ after the ruler, but was later renamed as the Monsoon Palace.
Located atop a captivating hill in the Aravalli Hills, the Monsoon Palace overlooks the Fateh Sagar Lake in Udaipur and offers panoramic views of almost the entire city. Built in exquisite white marbles, Monsoon Palace is famed as a timeless beauty and is included in almost all the Rajasthan tour packages to Udaipur.
