Fateh Sagar Lake
A man-made wonder of Udaipur, the Fateh Sagar Lake was constructed by Maharana Fateh Singh in the late 1680s. Touted as a major attraction in Rajasthan tourism map, this water reservoir boasts of its turquoise water, and is often called the ‘Second Kashmir’.
Adding more to the immaculate beauty of the Fateh Sagar Lake, there are three tiny islands within the lake that houses spectacular water-fountains, lush green parks, and a solar observatory. At present, this lake serves as a major source of drinking, agricultural, and industrial water. Visiting the Fateh Sagar Lake during August-September, visitors can enjoy the annual festival of ‘Hariyali Amavasya Mela’ besides this stunning water reservoir.
