Taragarh Fort
Star Fort or the Taragarh Fort is counted among the most majestic fortress in Bundi. Standing tall on a steep hillside, this fortifying fort was built in 1354 and is known for its amazing networks of tunnels. With three gateways – Lakshmi Pol, PhutaDarwaja and Gagudi Ki Phatak, Taragarh Fort once housed a remarkable cannon called ‘GarbhGunjam’ or the ‘Thunder from the Womb’.
A true piece of architectural brilliance, the fort also has water reservoirs, a palace called ‘Rani Mahal’ and a dargah called ‘MiranSaheb Ki Dargah’ within the main premises. A visit to Taragarh Fort not only helps the visitors to trace back the glorious history of Bundi, but also hold them captive with the panoramic views of the entire city.
