Jaigarh Fort
Decked with numerous glorious tales, the Jaigarh Fort or ‘Victory Fort’ in Jaipur is indeed one of the most stunning forts to visit in Rajasthan. Located on a hilltop called ‘Cheel Ka Teela’ (local meaning Hill of Eagles) in the Aravalli Ranges, this historic fort was built by Jai Singh II, and was named after him.
Spreading across 3x1km, the fort was once a prominent cannon foundry and also has the ‘Jaivana’, the world’s largest cannon on wheels. Overlooking the Amber Palace and the Maota Lake, Jaigarh Fort also houses a museum within its boundaries.
