Chittorgarh Fort
An impressive hill fort that spreads across more than 600 acres, Chittorgarh Fort boasts of being one of the largest fortresses in India. A 7th century (AD) fort built by the Mauryan rulers, though this towering fort has seen much during its lifetime, it still stands strong and has earned the fame of being a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Ruled by several dynasties – Guhilots, Sisodias, Suryavanshis, Rajputs and Mughals, it is undoubtedly one of the most stunning historic places to visit in Rajasthan. According to the legends, the construction of Chittorgarh Fort was initiated by Pandava brother Bhima who also created the gorgeous BhimlatKund with a single blow of his fist.
