Nagaur Fair
Also called the ‘Cattle Fair of Nagaur’, this gala festival in Rajasthan is the second largest festival in India. An annual festival of eight festive days, it is celebrated during the months of January to February in the Nagaur locale of Jodhpur, Rajasthan.
A festival dedicated to trading of animals; camels, horses, bullocks, and others, Nagaur Festival attracts livestock traders from almost all the corners of India. Following the lineage of most of the Rajasthan festivals, this grand fair also hosts an array of traditional competitions. Among these, the popular and must to attend attractions are camel races, tug-of-war, bullock cart races, cock fights, moustache competitions, and others. During this eight days’ fair, Nagaur also hosts the largest chilli market in India along with the display of other Indian spices, leather works, wooden arts and crafts.
