84 Pillared Cenotaph
Rajasthan, the royal capital of India not only boasts of its elegant palaces, forts and stunning places! The Desert Capital is also a land of emotions and relations, and the 84-Pillared Cenotaph in Bundi is one such example to showcase this. Also known as the ‘ChaurasiKhambon Ki Chhatri’, this remarkable cenotaph was built by Rao Raja Anirudh in 1683 in the memory of his foster brother Deva.
Supported by 84 beautifully crafted pillars, charm of this tombstone is further enhanced by its wall and ceiling paintings. In addition to the emotional values and its splendid architecture of the 84-Pillared Cenotaph, the fact that it is impossible to count all the 84 pillars correctly, makes this tombstone even more interesting!
