Mewar Festival

Udaipur – the ‘City of Lakes’, welcomes the spring season with full vigour, fiesta and enthusiasm; and the Mewar Festival testifies the celebration in the most colourful ways!

A two days’ festival in Rajasthan, Mewar Festival begins with a number of practices by the locals. Almost like the Gangaur Festival in Jaipur, during this auspicious festival in Udaipur, locals bring out a procession and carries the images of Gangaur and Isar across various parts of the city. On reaching the Lake Pichola, locals take the images on boats while hymning their religious songs. Irrespective of all caste, creed and colour, everyone participates in Mewar Festival wholeheartedly along with various cultural dance shows and musical performances.
